Smilez4u1390's 2017 Goals

Happy New Year!

My name is Silvia. I'm a 27-year-old newlywed and full-time middle school teacher. This is my 2nd year in this group, and I'm excited to get this new year rolling.

I have quite a few goals for this year, in all aspects of my life. I figure this is as good a place as any to keep track of it all. My thinking is that if I keep track of all my goals as often as I keep track of my reading ones, I'll actually accomplish more of them. :-P

I'm starting right off the bat on my first 2 goals: Get more involved on LT and be more organized.

Here goes...

2017 Goals & Resolutions
(in no particular order)

1. Learn how to use LT more effectively and get involved.
2. Get organized (let's say in at least 3 aspects of my life, to make it measurable & attainable) , -LT, classroom, t-shirt drawer
3. Get comfortable with new curriculum so I can plan ahead
4. Apply to and begin masters program
5. Learn how to use the slow cooker
6. Cook at least twice a week (starting small)
7. Exercise in some way every day
8. Reach at least 75% fluency in Italian
9. Work on my writing/overcome my writer's block (I've written an opening chapter for a novel, and haven't touched it for a year)
10. Succeed in attaining my reading goals (See next thread)

*EDIT*one major goal I've had for a while, but didn't expect to get started on this year was going back to school. I did in fact choose a program, apply, and complete my first semester of my master's program in curriculum and instruction. While this goal was not on my list, . It's bigger than many others on here and ended up taking their places.

I am part of the group.
I love being part of the group.
I love the friendships bestowed upon my by dint of my membership of this wonderful fellowship.
I love that race and creed and gender and age and sexuality and nationality make absolutely no difference to our being a valued member of the group.

Thank you for also being part of the group.

To be fair Sylvia, you seem to be pretty well organised to me!

Would be great to see you around more on the threads. Don't be put off by threads moving quickly just jump right in wherever you are comfortable - everyone is friendly, I think.

Thanks @PaulCranswick ! I couldn't sleep, so I decided to set everything up so it would already be organized. LOL

I'm still getting used to LT and learning how everything works. I learned some cool features yesterday, so it should make it easier to get involved. :)

Those are some mighty fine goals, Silvia. I hope to keep up with the Bible group, too. Walden is a book that has greatly influenced me throughout my life. It's not for everyone but I love the message to slow down and live deliberately. I hope you enjoy it when you get to it.

Thanks, @Donna828 ! I've had Walden on my shelf since high school, and never got past the excerpt we read for class. Every year it's at the top of my TBR list, but I'm hoping this is the year I'll sit down to read it!

Welcome back! Looks like you've got a great start on organizing things. If you have any LT questions, feel free to ask. We're a good resource in that regard.

Stephen (Ape) is also reading Grimm's fairy tales. You'll have a lot to talk about.
