Although I have quite a few books of Bible commentary, I'd like to find a more complete summary of exegesis (either print or on web). My priorities: Gospels, Paul's letters, other NT. I ask for members' suggestions.
By summary of exegesis, I mean essentially an outline, by verse, of major exegetic writings through the years. Starting with the Gospel of St Matthew, by verse, I hope to find at least summary comments on important exegesis.
For example, a Commentary such as JC Fenton's starts Mt 1:1 with the statement (Fenton's opinion) that the title Matthew used is ambiguous, "perhaps intentionally so." I hope to find a book which would follow this with alternate important views.
One further example of desired exegesis, for Mt 27: 46, Jesus' quotation from Ps 22:2 about having been forsaken.
