Was the death of McLean's grandmother 'for the best'?

I personally think so.
To all intents and purposes she's been dead for 18 months, only kept alive by intravenous nutrition, and with no hope of recovery. If this ever happens to me, I want my loved ones to pull the plug, mourn, then move on with their lives.

I agree. If you aren't able to enjoy your life what is the sense of hanging on to it.

I absolutely think so. I would never want to live like that.

it seems that she had "died" a long time ago. The way she was wasn't living.

Agree with all of you, seems pretty horrific that she was kept alive in that state for 18 months!

I agree - I wouldn't want to "linger" for 18 months like that

I'm in total agreement with you all.
She's been gone a long time. I've no idea what the laws are in Scotland, but even if "pulling the plug" is an option, it's very difficult for a family member to make that decision.
Does everyone have their advance directives completed?

>2 Sergeirocks: I am in 100% agreement with all of this.
