Yes I do.
I think Smythe is one of the murderers from the former crime. I think he'll turn out to be the one referred to as 'Professor' on the sheets of paper, and linked to the spleen in the alcoves. (I think he probably ate part of the girl's spleen - part of the ritual - probably to do with longevity, seeing as Smythe was found with his spleen stuffed in his mouth and the pathologist seems to have spotted an anomaly in the aging of certain of Smythe's organs.)

Yes, but I haven't given it the depth of thought >2 Sergeirocks: has. I'm incredibly impressed!

>3 Olivermagnus: My imagination got carried away, Lynda, (probably not wanting to dwell on blood and innards... :D).

I am also impressed that you got that much from the story thus far...but you are our COD. We haven't called you that in a long time:)
Yes I believe the murders past and present are connected.

I had some of the same thoughts as Sergei. Smythecwas one of the murderers of the girl and the others involved will be targeted and found with the relevant organ in their mouth or around their body. Was their evidence in that safe that identified who the murderers were?
>2 Sergeirocks: Good point about the aging of the organs, did this action give them longer life?

>2 Sergeirocks: I agree

>2 Sergeirocks: I also agree. I got the impression that it was not just the spleen that gave the pathologist pause. Could Smythe have been involved with more that one ritual?

>2 Sergeirocks: Again, I agree with you completely!

>2 Sergeirocks: similar thoughts about the spleen - I'm wondering if maybe the organs in Smythe's body belong to a different corpse...
