Did you think they had caught the killer?

THEY though they had caught the killer but I knew it was way too early.

I agree - it was a bit early.

I'm not certain: it seems a bit early. I don't doubt that Okolo was at the scene of the crime - fingerprints place him there - but is he the killer?
I get the feeling Okolo had been drugged. Had he been hypnotised into committing the killing? Or perhaps he was taken to the scene so that he could be framed for the murder?
He certainly isn't old enough to fulfil my theory of a personal vendetta.

I'm not sure about Okolo's role in things but I don't see him as the killer. However, I am struggling to find an explanation for chapter 11. The reason they gave for him being the killer was very weak, they just wanted this high profile case closed down in my opinion and the heat off them.

I do think Okolo will fit into the story as an immigrant that was hired by McAllister Homes to do plaster.

It seems too early to be the real killer. I wondered if Okolo might be the one who sealed up the alcoves.

no, I don't think so unless he was directed by the killer. Kind of leads me back to wondering if MacAllister is running drugs or some other kind of hallucinogenic where others can be influenced to do the killing.

>7 Olivermagnus: I don't think Okolo was old enough, Lynda. The pathologist judged him to be in his late fifties and was surprised to hear (from MacBride) that Okolo was only in his mid forties.
Again, something fishy about it - had Okolo been on the receiving end of something Voodoo?

If he was the killer, then he was definitely an instrument of somebody else. I was thinking hypnosis.

I am liking the hypnosis theories, that seems to make the most plausible sense. If he is the actual killer, then he's doing it at the command of someone else. I don't think he has any personal vendetta against Smythe, even though it may look like it from the immigration board standpoint. I think he was chosen for that very reason, it would look like a motive. I do think it was way too easy, too good to be true they should be thinking.

>10 sushicat: I also think it some kind of hypnosis or voodoo magic. An unwitting accomplice (puppet) to someone else's evil plan.
