I can't make heads or tails at the moment.

I speculated that the robberies were to retrieve proof/evidence of the ritual murder - maybe 5 of the perpetrators kept proof against the 6th and he's now getting that back? not really sure
4Carol420
Not unless the idea is to kill the men and take back something that they owned..or as Brenda said maybe the 6th is taking back his things that the others had.
5EadieB
The robberies are connected to the obituaries so those people who died are somehow connected to the killers from the 40's.
6Sergeirocks
>5 EadieB: Yes, maybe one of the original 6 (I'd plump for the missing man from Esther's photograph) is tidying up after the deaths of his friends... He knows they all have something in their safes that will link them to the original murder/ritual, so he has arranged for McReadie to burgle their homes after their deaths to retrieve the incriminating 'mementos'?

>3 bhabeck: >6 Sergeirocks: Both of these sound like good theories.

But I thought that the first burglary that we read about was a woman who died but her husband is the one who reported the robbery. Wouldn't the cufflink belong to her husband? But he is still alive. Should we expect him to be murdered?

>6 Sergeirocks: >8 EadieB: Was It the husband or the son? Also didn't the cufflink come from the house in Penicuik? The cufflink belonged to Bertie and we have been told he died in the bus stop crash. Ooh my head hurts!

>9 Andrew-theQM:
My head hurts too! Too many burglaries and deaths!

>10 EadieB: Agreed, my head has become a bit scrambled on this one. Think I need to put some notes on paper.
12sushicat
I think the burglaries are only connected to the murders by the fact that one or more of those burgled happen to be of the set of six involved in the original murder. I don't think there's anyone targeting these six specifically. The ones that were murdered were not victims of burglaries.

>9 Andrew-theQM: >10 EadieB: Remember that bacon is the magic cure for headaches. Come on aboard before Oliver eats it all:)
14Olivermagnus
I went to Costco yesterday and got lots of bacon.
I'm very confused now.......

>16 EadieB: Hope you made some extras for the boat, I've already eaten through Lynda's Costco stock!
18EadieB
I made kielbasa and sauerkraut for tonight's dinner. It's on the kitchen counter on the boat!
19Carol420
>18 EadieB: I will indulge in the kielbasa's but I am probably the only person on the planet that doesn't like sauerkraut. The servers in the restaurants always look at me like I've grown an extra head when I order a Ruben less the sauerkraut. My husband says "why don't you just order a corned beef sandwich?" And I tell him "that's not what's on the menu." So he spends the rest of the meal looking perplexed.

>19 Carol420:
I'm sure you husband is perplexed a lot living with you. I know mine is as men are from Mars and women are from Venus.

>19 Carol420: You're not alone in your dislike. I'll eat sauerkraut only under serious duress.
