Having met Gavin Spenser in more detail, do you have any further thoughts on him?

I am beginning to think the assumption that he's McLean's biological grandfather is probably correct. He's a cagey one tho - he's obviously done his research on Tony and what he's up to at work, etc. I think Tony needs to be careful around him

Still convinced he's Tony's biological grandfather, but wonder what the facial scarring is all about?

I was wondering if he could have been in the plane crash that killed Tony's parents and grandfather. I even toyed with the idea that he could be Tony's grandfather but then realized that was pretty far out there.

I wondered about the plane crash too...

I'm very vary of Gavin Spenser after that weird offer to come work for him. It seems as though he wants him off the investigation.

I think Gavin Spenser is the sixth killer and he wants McLean off the case because McLean is getting closer to figuring it out. I still think the Carstairs is the biological grandfather and I wouldn't want it to be Gavin Spenser if he is one of the killers.

I think Spencer wants McLean off the investigation and the offer of the job is a way to try and get McLean under his control. Chloe seemed a sideline investigation but I wonder if Spencer is planning another ritual killing and Chloe is to be the sacrifice. It seems he believes that the previous sacrifice gave the 6 of them health and wealth.

>8 EadieB: Don't think it matters whether the grandfather is Spenser or Carstairs, they were both involved in the killings in my opinion. Although I do think Spenser is the grandfather and possibly the one driving the killings. He definitely offered him the job to get him out of the way.

I still think he's the 6th killer and he's Tony's biological grandfather.
I too thought about him being in the plane crash but don't give that much weight.

Another theory in the back of my head is that he's actually Bertie--he didn't die in that car crash. He somehow got away and started over. He is now back because he knew the house was being re-developed and knew the 1940's body would be disturbed and found. He's behind the new murders and is planning another ritual.
