Peter Andrews and Okolo were around the toilet in the pub at the same time. Did you have any idea why this was significant?

I didn't but once they were viewing the tape, I started considering the possibilities and I was close to the explanation

This put the final pieces of jigsaw into place for me - I then knew we had to be talking about possession (entity passing from each suicide victim into someone in close proximity): a theory I had dismissed in previous sections as being unlikely, (wrong again!).

I actually never thought of possession...but it's as good an explanation as any.

It finally linked Andrews to Okolo and they were not just suicide victims.

It seemed to link them but I never thought of possession.

This was the "aha" point for me. Madame Rose's explanation about the demon and the protection circle started me thinking more seriously about this possibility and then both Andrews and Okola in the toilet clinched it. The demon was possessing people to take his revenge and moved to closest live person when his prior "vessel" committed suicide.

OMG. I was all over the place in my theories for this book, but otherworldly possession was the one thing I had firmly ruled out. I need a detective refresher course.

I finally succumbed to the evidence: there was no way this would be all explained away rationally. So possession had to be the answer.

>7 bluebird_: I believe the first module on the Detective Refresher Course is 'How to Spot Signs of Demon Possession'.
I've booked us both a place, Bb, :D

>9 Sergeirocks: I definitely think I need to attend but think I need the basic course not the refresher course. This didn't even enter my head, pun intended! Well done to those of you that did get it. Just couldn't see how the driver of the train could possibly be connected!

>11 Andrew-theQM: He was just "demon fodder". Maybe you don't read as much "weird stuff" as some of us.

>12 Carol420: Obciously not. I think the last ones I read with a supernatural element was the Group Read of Blood Oath by Christopher Farnsworth and the Order of the Sanguines Trilogy by James Rollins and Rebecca Cantrell. Now I loved all those books!

>9 Sergeirocks:
I think the first sign of demon possession is that your head spins all the way around and pea soup shoots out of your mouth. Saw that on The Exorcist movie! lol

>14 EadieB: You're right. I saw that also and we all know that everything we see on the wide screen is absolutely true...or at least an "alternative fact". I do like that phrase. Covers a wide variety of subjects:) You might also watch for signs that the possessed can climb the nearest wall and walk all the way across the ceiling and down the opposite wall while spinning the head and shooting the pea soup.

They can also inhabit a house and scare the living crap out of you and kill the priest that comes to exorcise them! Scary!

>16 EadieB: What is probably even more scary is that you and I seem to know a lot about the subject:) Maybe we can teach that course that Sergei and Bluebird and Andrew are going to sign up for.
