Did the letter from Carstairs clarify anything?

not the part that really has us wondering - Gran's secrets and the mystery man. but, it did confirm that Carstairs was part of the ritual kill and why he was leaving his wealth to Tony.

His comment that Tony had not grown up to be the kind of man that Gran thought he might also made me think that she was worried about him taking on his grandfather's (ie Spenser's) nature. this made me suspect more strongly that Spenser was part of the original killing

The letter confirmed some issues but left some others unattended to.

The letter answered some questions but we still don't know what Tony's grandmother's secret was.

It cleared up for me that Carstairs was not the biological grandfather and that Gran still had more secrets.

It cleared up things enough to know that Spenser was the biological grandfather and also the 6th man.

It was at this point, on reading the letter, that I realised Chloe would be in the house where the original ritual had taken place. I was pleased to see I got this right.
