I agree with Brenda: a good story and well-written characters.

I also have to agree with >2 bhabeck: and >3 Sergeirocks:. I'm anxious to read the second book.

I really liked his writing a lot and his characters were well drawn. The plot was good but I agree with what the author said that the short story from which this book was derived was more for a horror or supernatural tale. The murder involving the 6 killers was taken from a supernatural book so I think he had to follow the line using supernatural explanations but in the end it was more or less explained as demon possession. I hope his next books which will be written from scratch will revert back to the mystery/thriller type of book.

Well written and some interesting characters.

I agree with you all.
Good story with a group of well written characters.
I look forward to continuing with the series. Oh no! ANOTHER series. Ack! I'm getting buried by the books I want to read soon. I can't keep moving books "to the top of the TBR pile"--it keeps falling over. Thank goodness Linda didn't like Victoria (as mentioned in the last group read). At least I was able to move ONE book down the TBR pile!

I think you all have it well covered. These were well written books that held our interest throughout and some good characterisation.
