Hi there,
I have an entry called Languages of the Southern Gateway : a phrase book of Chavacano, Sinama, Tausug, Yakan, and including English and Pilipino, a publication of the Summer Institute of Linguistics. Not formally an 'about' book but it does touch on the history of certain Mindanao dialects, with Tagalog and English translations.

Most welcome. I'll try to look through the inventory of the UP Press today and tomorrow if there are any more current titles related to your inquiry and I'll let you know. (Means having to contend with the staff there who are in now in a *very holiday* mode, like last week. Read: not very helpful.) :p

Hi aznstarlette, For in-depth folklore of a little-known ethnic group, I'd recommend Ichbayat Folkways by Yamada Yukihiro.
