What was your final rating? Why?

I stayed with 3.5. I thought the end was tied up nicely but a major character was so out of character throughout the story and died at the end. I'm not majorly upset that Henrik died...(not like Fran:)... but I was frustrated by his attitude with Cotton and Stephanie.

I'm staying with 3.5. The last quarter of the book was better but couldn't make up for the slow start.

I'm rating it a 4 because of the historical aspects.

A steady 3.5 most of the way through the book, I decided on a final score of 3.75 (rounded down to 3.5★s for the book page).

He killed off Henrik, finding the treasure was poorly done so dropping the score by half a star to 3.25. Will round to 3.5 for Librarything.

I also dropped from 3.5 stars to 3 stars. I'm not a ¼ stars person, but if I were it would be 3.25. : )
I agree Henrik's behavior seemed out of character and the way he died was rather pointless. If you're going to kill a major character, please make it meaningful in some way.

I'll end at 3.25 - also for the senseless death of Henrik, letting Eliza go and for the generally "meh" ending
