This Trussville branch library is closing July 28, 2017, for an extensive renovation. July 21 is the last day on which books can be checked out, but they can be kept out until Dec. 1, when the library is expected to reopen. http://www.al.com/news/birmingham/index.ssf/2017/07/trussville_public_library.ht...
If you havent been to the library, it is in one of the most attractive settings in the entire system. It's in the Cahaba Project, a New Deal housing development that includes Hewitt-Trussville High School. The area was an industrial site -- what we now call brownlands -- and was skeptically nicknamed "Slagheap Village" when the government acquired it for housing.
