Hi Willow,

I've read four of your books, didn't you love The Thirteenth Tale? So if you notice the way the book highlights it's called a touchstone, makes easy for others to check out the books you post about. You add a bracket to each side of the title and two brackets to each side of the author. Of course you don't have to but I was glad when someone explained to me how to do it.

I did enjoy The Thirteenth Tale. It wasn't my favorite of the ones I've read this year, but it was good.

I'd be interested in chatting about mutual books. Congratulations on 33! I have two more books that I'm in the middle of. It's really easy to start a Book List posting, and then it's fun to see how well you're doing for the year. I'd be happy to tell you where to do that if you'd like.

It's alright. Honestly, Ivanhoe is the best of the three of his I've read. Just a warning though, Rob Roy doesn't even appear until more then half way through the book.

I have read the English Patient but wasn't all that thrilled about it. How do you find it Wilow?

55Willow316
Oct 6, 2008, 6:12 pm

I liked The English Patient more then I expected to. It is not normally the kind of book I like, but I think it was the right book at the right time. Sometimes I find that is the case with literature. There are some books I pick up 4 or 5 times with no success, and then the 5th or 6th time, all of a sudden I can't put it down. It was sweet, melancholy, well written and romantic. I liked it better then the movie. Which is not necessarily saying much, because although the cast was excellent and the cinematography beautifull, it is not the kind of plot I generally care for.

Turned out, that was it. I don't really tend to pick out books that way though. How about you?

Some how my list got deleted and I can't remember what the last book was. It could have been And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie and it ended up my favorite book or the year.
