I received Quick-Kill and the Galactic Secret Service byK.J. Heritage as a LibraryThing Giveaway but LibraryThing can't find the book when I attempt to add it to my library.

Hitting the add button on the book's title page has a similar result. I noticed that some people were able to add it to their libraries and I am curious how they accomplished it.

Use manual entry. See the link below your list of sources on the left.

Quick-kill and the Galactic Secret Service

BTW, is in Amazon, and both members who have entered it used that, but I think I read that there is a bug entering from Amazon right now.

>2 MarthaJeanne: Sound advice, but I wanted to clarify that the bug report pertained only to certain international Amazon sites, and, in those cases, the search was failing entirely (not just missing the book in results, which is what's happening here).

I made a new bug report for this issue: https://www.librarything.com/topic/269837.

In the meantime, the Add Manually feature (or selecting a different data source, like OverCat) works just fine!

I know many people dislike using manual entry, but I'm not convinced that an entry from a source that needs a lot of editing is faster or easier than a clean manual entry. Might make a difference in whether or not combining is needed.

This book is not available in Overcat.

MarthaJeanne,

Thanks, I found the manual entry button and may use it as a last resort. But, since lolorannen filed a bug report, I'll wait to enter the book until LibraryThing gets the issue fixed.

I won't be reading the book for a few weeks. I'm way behind on my reading as a result of cleanup tasks and of not having power due to Hurricane Irma. Automatic entry adds a great deal more information to the library listing than I care to type in manually.
