October is here, which means it's time to start reading and discussing book 10 of the Poldark saga, The Loving Cup. Obviously we can expect some continuation of the Jeremy-related cliffhanger at the end of The Miller's Dance, but what else do these last few books in the series have in store for us? Personally, I'm waiting for the issue of

I've got to dive in right now as I only have 5 days left on my library loan. I just raced through #9 so I can get on with this.

I finished the loving cup this morning. I loved the ending and know already that the next book will be a tough read. Ok so I wasn't thrilled that Clowance chose Stephen, but at least we were given enough story to come to terms with it. .
Bella is going to be a handful as she grows up....and Valentine was very Valentine this time round.

Finished last night. OMG, Valentine!! Good for him! Although I did not like the way he spoke to his wife later. And yes, I am STILL waiting for his paternity to come to light. And what Sir George will do in reprisal.
I wonder what is the cause of Demelza'smelancholy. I just don't buy that it was a bad dream.
I love Geoffrey Charles andAmadora. I'm so glad he and Jeffrey came through the war.
I hope that now that Stephenand Clowance are married that Stephen can make a respectable go at business. I'm not sure how things will shape up for he and Sir George. Could be a path for George to hold something over Ross.

Of course, I'm still in the middle of The Loving Cup, so I'll probably be posting here again in a week or so. :)

The Loving Cup by Winston Graham
Another solid and engrossing installment in the Poldark family's saga. The author keeps your interest through historic references and political commentary, never losing the reader throughout a 400 page plus novel.
Recommended, as are all the Poldark novels.

Finished The Loving Cup over the weekend!
I really enjoyed Valentine's plot in this installment, and I'll be interested to see how things shake out withSelina and the mineral rights, not to mention Valentine's ice-cold relationship with George.
Ross continues to be infuriating!Basically telling Jeremy to rape Cuby...NOT GREAT, ROSS! I'm glad Jeremy has at least a little more sense than his father!
Not thrilled aboutClowance and Stephen, but I'm still kind of hoping he'll succumb to an ague or something!

>10 christina_reads: Valentine is an intriguing character, so much like his grandfather...
IMO Ross' advice woke up Jeremy's complaisance, not sure Ross meant it as literal as it came out of his mouth.
Stay tuned, The Twisted Sword is going to bring a lot of the plots to a head.

>11 fuzzi: Yeah, I guess Ross does walk back his advice later, when he's talking to Demelza and she points out that the woman's consent is necessary. But I couldn't help thinking back to when he did this exact thing to Elizabeth! I'm just glad Jeremy didn't end up taking Ross's advice literally. I'm definitely excited to see what The Twisted Sword will bring!

Picking up The Twisted Sword from the library this afternoon! Whoo Hoo!
