Hi my name is C- I am a Voracious reader. I probably read at least if not more than 50 books last year. Not including re-reads.

So, with that said I'm going to go for a 100. I think I could do that, well as long as I stay a SAHM. If I go back to work I may have to re-arrange that a little.

To keep track. I will write reviews for each book on the thing. As well as keeping a list in Word, with start and end dates. Good luck to me and GL for everyone else as well.

Good luck! As a single mom, I work full-time, and I read 93 books last year, so it is possible to work and read. You just have to be tenacious about it ;-).

So I've read 2 books so far.

#1- finished 01/04- The Frog Princess, children's literature. It was a fast, but I reader faster than most. Review is already there.

#2 finished 01/09- Heart of Stone I really liked this, I'm in love w/ C.E. Murphy I really loved the Walker Papers and am really looking forward to more on that series. So I thought I'd try this one and am just as anxious for the next in this one as well.

Right now I'm in the middle of Magic's Child which I picked up on Thursday and should finish tomorrow? So I think I'm doing pretty good.

Since I was so close last year, I am going for 100. So far, I have only finished one book, but I am not worried yet--I only read 4 books last January, too, so it should all work out in the end. I count the books I read aloud with my 10 year old, too, but not the ones I read to my 5 year old. So, I am well into 2 more books now, and I have recently purchased some books I am really excited about, so I think I will be picking up the pace now.

It sounds like you are doing pretty well already!

Thanks Suss
I'm really excited about this. I've read books like I was eating chocolate since I was little girl. While all the little girls on my street were playing dolls, and house; I was laying in the back yard in my lawn chair reading. Now that I live in Az, I can start going back outside to read. Although I have to get some lawn chairs first, LOL.

#3 Is now finished, Magic's Child and I'm going to work on The Chronicles of Chrestomanci, Vol 1. I've actually owned for a while but never got around to reading it, Can't remember why. Anyway LOVED the conclusion to this series, read the review if you like. So far so good.

It is fun having a goal, isn't it?

Yes I'm really loving this, so glad the "thing" is here. I wish it had been around when I was a little girl. I could have tracked my books since the age of 6. Phooey!

Anyway finished #4 The Chronicles of Chrestomanci, Vol 1, it was delicious. Can't wait to read some more of Diana Wynne Jones. Actually I had a hard time with this book, started and stopped it 4 times before getting through it. Now I'm glad I waited, I relished it.

Wow I've been really reading since I last posted let me see. I don't think these are going to be in order I just grabbed the stack, LOL-

#5 100 Cupboards by N.D. Wilson- this was different but in a good way. I love reading children's fantasy sometimes I think it is better than adult. There's no extra junk, just pure imagination.

#6Guardian of Honor by Robin D. Owens- Okay I have found a genre I love just as much as regular fantasy, fantastical romance. OML was this yummy, I went thru the entire series like chocolate. Unfortunately I read them all so fast now I have to wait almost a year for the next book. Pooey!

#7 Eyes of Crow by Jeri Smith-ready - another fantasy romance, interesting subject matter though. the passsage of death. still trying to swallow all of this one.

#8 Dragon's Breath by E.D. Baker- young adult fantasy, a continuation of the Frog princess series. I'm really liking and feeling this young heroine. She's no-nonsense, knows exactly what she wants.

#9- Magyk byAngie Sage- I actual had this on my book shelf for 2 years but couldn't get through it. So I finally sat down and devoured it...on to the next.

#10- Cast In Secret by Michelle Sagara- Yummy- I read the other 2 offerings in this series last year. I was in great anticipation for this chapter and was not disappointed.

#11- Sorceress of Faith by Robin D. Owens -another of those fantastic romance fantasies in this the Summoning Series, I can't elaborate on how much I loved these.

#12- Protector of Flight by Robin D. Owens- I told you I ate these.

#13- Keepers of the Flame by Robin D. Owens- this is the last one for awhile, so unfortunate. The next chapter doesn't come out till 2009- I hope I find more to read by her in the mean time.

#14- House of Cards by C.E. Murphy- another favorite author. she has not disappointed me w/ these. I was VERY sad when she stopped righting the Walker Papers to start this but I have forgiven her. Great work!

#15 Flyte by Angie Sage- I'm really glad I picked that last one off the shelf after 2 years. this series is just delightful.

#16 A Dangerous Love by Beatrice Small- a true romance, historical. I loved the Scotland background. when I read romance novels I tend toward the historical based stuff or Native American backgrounds.

Sooo that's where I am right now. Now I've currently got 4 books that I'm reading all at once. 2 fantasies, a children's fantasy the third by Angie Sage- Physik which I've barely begun. Eat Pray Love which is not a usual type of read for me but was recommended and I'm finding it very insightful. Also the 2nd in the Crow series having a hard time w/ this one. It's not that it's slow but something happened in the book that really stuck me and I had to put it down to wonder about it. And a anthology...which is kind of like a when the book I'm on gets tedious in-between read.

The only bad thing I'm finding about reading all these books is that I have them piled next to my computer in my office. I have nowhere else to put them. I have run out of bookcases yet again. And at the present moment can not afford to buy another bookcase. So frusterpating, ahh well the reading is still delicious

Doing Okay I guess. Of the books I was reading I haven't finished those, but I've finished other books, too funny. I got distracted by Robin D Owens again I'm really feeling this womans books. And it's funny I've nver been a BIG Romance reader but all the sudden I want to read romance. I know why too, hmmmm anyway her books combine my favorite genre- Fantasy w/ Romance and it's delectable-mmmmm

#17 Heart Mate- Robin D Owens - really getting addicted to this woman's work

#18 Heart thief- Robin D Owens- what can I say... going for the whole series

# 19 Wicked Lovely- Melissa Marr - new author, FANTASTIC, another person I'll be watching

that's where I am right now, I feel like I've finished some other stuff too, I'll have to check the done pile and get back to you. Also I guess I need to finish those other 3 up there, lol

Wow- I didn't really realize how far behind on updating my books read list, until I went to grab the stack of read books, LOL-

I've really been into romance lately... which is weird and not weird when I was in my early 20's I LOVED romance. even though Fantasy is till my bread and butter, I think that it is coming to a close second as I get older. I've been married for 13 yrs in July and I think reading the romance novels is my way of translating it into my totally unromantic life, lol

#20 The Chronicles of Chrestomanci Vol 2 - Diana Wynne Jones - love her work, lover her work I'm just now finding out about her, so I'm kinda late but I guess I've been stuck in some other worlds like Valdemar and Tortall, and the Circles for who knows how long, lol

#21 The Chronicles of Chrestomanci, Vol 3- Diana Wynne Jones- again just getting into her stuff but I loves this world and all the other parallel ones too

#22 Heart Duel- Robin D. Owens- I'm going to put here on this one so i don't have to do tgis w/ the next few that ..... this world has totally captivated me. Any one who can dream up a world w/ awesome fantastic properties and then add some sizzling romance is by far and away on my top 5.

#23 Heart Choice- Robin D. Owens

#24 Heart Quest- Robin D. Owens

#25 Heart Dance- Robin D. Owens

#26 Firebirds Rising- edited by Sharyn November - this was an anthology that I bought at the start of the year. I have been slowing wending my way through it as I have read other books, between pieces or waiting for pieces to arrive in the mail or bookstore. It was a wonderful journey into some new worlds. I discovered quite a few new authors I'd like to read and hopefully will be commenting on in this list quite soon.

#27 Highland Warrior- Connie Mason- I have a thing for Scottish and Irish romantic fantasy in addition to my addiction to paranormal/fantasy romance, lol

#28 Sword of the Highlands - Veronica Wolff - another of those strapping Scottish historical fantasies and this one had a nice twist.... some time travel. I also like that she got her ideas from real paintings and landscapes of the Highlands during that time period.

#29 Gone with the Witch- Annette Blair - I read the first in this witchy series last year about the time that we were arriving in AZ. I think that was not quite the beginning w/ my new passion for romance, lol . But it was near the beginning and her books are definitely a good way to start a love for romance novels.

Again as you see I was distracted by that rascally Robin D. Owens. I don't know what it is about this womens books but I sure am addicted to them. Still haven't managed to get into that Angie Sage book although I've tried. but my mind just isn't there right now. I am however determined to finish those hangers on by my "read it all or weep" date- 31 Dec.

Trying to do a little better in updating my books.

#30 Summers at Castle Auburn by Sharon Shinn - read a little bit of her stuff in Firebirds Rising so I have been on the look out for her work ever since. I was very impressed and have more of her work to delve into and I'm very excited.

#31 Soul of A Highlander by Melissa Mayhue - excellent, although I try not to read books out of order I was already realizing that there were 2 ahead of this one half way thru and I was like I'm not stopping now. So I will have to get the ones before this and catch up, lol

#32 The Titan's Curse by Rick Riordan - I FINISHED IT! It took me forever to get thru this book, and I don't exactly know why. I love Greek Mythology and these books are right up my alley. Sometimes you just have to be in the mood for a book.

More to come.....

#35 Falcondance by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes

#36 the Sword by Jean Johnson

#37 the Wolf by Jean Johnson

So I will have to put my little notes on these book up later. However I will say the Amelia Atwater-Rhodes and the Jean Johnson books were amazingly delicious.
