Believe it or not, 5 weeks from today our annual Joplin meet up is happening - and this year marks our 10 year anniversary! It is hard to believe that is possible! I am not missing it for anything! Who else is in?

I'm in, Stasia! I think I've been there every year...so I'm certainly not going to miss the big anniversary!! See you soon! 😊

I was so bummed I had to miss last year. There is no way I am missing this one. Glad to know you will be there, Nancy!
4rosalita
Unless I get sick again, I'm definitely planning to be there! I really missed not seeing you all last year.

I will be day tripping with Nancy. We missed Stasia, Julia, Brenda, Cindy, and Mike last year! Hopefully, we will have our usual big group. See you on the 28th! Thanks for starting a dedicated thread, Stasia.

Julia, I hope you are well enough to make it this year!
Donna, I am hoping for a good turnout too. It seems like we should have one to celebrate year 10, doesn't it?

I'm REALLY hoping I can be there! We have babysitting duties that week, but I'm going to try to talk (beg) my way into making an appearance in Joplin on Tuesday! Fingers crossed . . .

I hope you can make it too, Brenda! It has been too long since I saw you last :)

I did not mention it in the first message, but we will be meeting again at the Changing Hands Book Shoppe (http://chbs.tgaming.org/). I have already contacted Susie to let her know that we will be there on November 28th.
ETA: We have actually made the Calendar of Events for the bookstore! I thought that was great (http://chbs.tgaming.org/calendar.html).

Those of you who will be overnighting, do you know where you'll be staying? I seem to recall when I was making my ill-fated reservations last year that our old standby hotel had closed down.

Great minds and all that, Nancy!

Off to Joplin tomorrow morning. Woot!
21Donna828
Double Woot! I will see you Tuesday, Stasia. Drive carefully...and don’t stay up all night on Monday playing games. Save your energy for books and getting caught up!
22rosalita
>20 alcottacre: You ARE bringing us some fun games to play, right Stasia?!
23alcottacre
>21 Donna828: I will try and restrain myself, Donna :)
>22 rosalita: Yes, I am bringing several, including Ex Libris, Julia!

I posted a few pictures from the meet up over here.
We had a wonderful day. I daytripped down to Joplin from Springfield, MO, with my friend and fellow LTer Nancy. Sandy drove down for the day from the Kansas City area. Julia was our long-distance driver, coming all the way from Iowa City, IA. This group was started by Stasia and Terri when they got the brilliant idea to meet halfway between their respective homes in Sherman, TX, and St. Charles, MO. Thank you, ladies, for your vision. By the way, Stasia, her daughter Beth, Terri, and Julia are still whooping it up in a Joplin hotel!

I'm off to look at the pics with thanks, Donna. I just heard from Stasia that they're holed up in their rooms reading!
