Was it wise for them to move using the full speed of the engines of the Oregon?

Yes, as long as they used caution when necessary. Linda's life was in danger and time was of the essence.

Yes...They know the capability of their ship. Time was the big factor here.

Yes. They slowed when necessary as they reached the straits. They didn’t return the hails of ships that saw them outside of the strait so the lookouts didn’t get confirmation of what they saw

They would never put the ship at risk even when rushing to save a team member. They would push, but not exceed, the Oregon's capabilities.

Obviously a risk, but I think they took appropriate measures to minimthe risk.
