Was Juan right to ignore the radio call to get out of there? What would he have done if one of the crew ignored his order?

He had a good excuse, though... He had no radio reception and couldn't hear the warning.
If it had been one of his underlings, he'd probably hit the roof about it, while at the same time being happy with the outcome.
They all give 100%; taking it to the wire is par for the course.

I agree with >2 Sergeirocks: He couldn't hear the transmission until he was several stories closer to the surface than when it was sent.

He didn’t actually ignore it...he didn’t have reception and therefore didn’t get the transmission. Even so, he would have continued the search

I agree with you all.

I think he turned a deaf ear to it, and he definitely wouldn't have been happy if this had been the actions of one of his team even if he secretly would have admired them!

He couldn’t hear the radio until he came higher in the ship.
