Why do you think Juan asked for an armed guard to be put on MacD? Had you expected this?

Don't know how Juan reached his conclusions, but I thought it wasn't before time. I've distrusted Lawless since the beginning.
And I wish they'd drop the D from his name - 'Mac' is enough; 'MacD' I find pretentious and annoys me every time I have to read it (I've actually dropped the 'D' myself and refuse to read it as anything but 'Mac').

I think it was a two-fold precaution...He wanted to find out what MacD's side of the story was...if he had good reason..okay...if he was a bad guy then he wasn't going anywhere or calling anyone. Also it could have been for his protection since the kidnappers were getting rid of loose ends.

I didn’t know how he made the leap from seeing Soleil on the rig, the rushed scuttling of the rig to MacD being involved. To me, it seemed that Smith had another boss rather than Choissard that was running the show.

The connection was that the kidnappers were alerted to the early approach of the Oregon...but really, they let MacD keep a way to communicate in his first real visit to the ship??

I thought he had discovered some evidence that Lawless was working with the bad guys.

This seemed a big leap in his thoughts and couldn't really see where it had come from. Wasn't too surprised as had suspected him of being a plant all the way along.

He wasn’t sure if Lawless was a bad guy or not.

>6 Andrew-theQM: I had to think about it too and then realized that it was because the rig was being scuttled too early so the people on the ship obviously had been warned that the Oregon was almost there. The only people who knew that were on the Oregon and there was only one person that was a long time crew member who knew. So it made sense to suspect Lawless.

>8 bhabeck: It all made so much sense when it was explained.
