Should the team have picked up on the way they were played sooner?

I don't know; they didn't have too much to go on, to be fair.

I agree with >2 Sergeirocks:. How could they have known? They are also used to being the "player' and not the "playee".

The mission seemed legitimate and they’d vetted Choissard and his daughter as well as Smith and Lawless. They’d done their homework so I don’t think they would have figured it out earlier

I don't know how they could have figured it out earlier. It doesn't happen often but the other guys just put together a better plan.
