How do you think someone got hold of the nuclear code? Why send this to the White House?

I'm assuming it was all those computers on the rig, though I don't know how it was achieved.
Sent to the WH, it was the ultimate bargaining chip - accede to our demands or we tell the whole world your country's security has been undermined.
I think the President is going to have to eat his words and crawl to the Corporation for assistance over this one...

It was who ever had the computers on the oil rig. What a horrible mess this could create if it actually happened. The world and all it's residents and resources would be their's for the asking. >2 Sergeirocks: I believe the Corporation is going to be back in business. They can't be contacted by any electronic means...the bad guys will know before they can get their boots on.

I assumed it was to show the White House what they were capable of and that it was an extreme hack from the server farm on the rig

I can't imagine how it was possible to get daily randomly generated codes. As soon as the demands were issued I felt sure this was going to be how the Oregon team got back into business with the U.S. government.

This was the most amazing nightmare scenario I think I have seen in a book, and they certainly had them over a barrel! Could only be the ultimate in hacking...very worrying! Obviously sent to the White House as trying to blackmail the President.
