Why would Kevin frown when Jane described the woman who had been killed? Was it because he was there at the time of the landslide, or was there more to it?

I thought that Kevin just recognized her or thought that he recognized her. Kevin didn't seem to be very sure of anything. I don't know if he was there when she was killed...probably not... but I think he's afraid that he's going to be accused of something.

I don't know - but isn't that what Ann does best? Scatter little doubts about our path so that we end up suspecting everyone? (Except the real killer, lol!).
I think Kevin was acting a little shiftily, but I don't think he's the killer, (not at this point in time, at least).

At this point, I didn't know if this meant anything. But later, it turned out that maybe it did.

I think it's way too early in the book for me to suspect Kevin as a strangler. He could be but I don't know him well enough yet to commit one way or the other.

As we learn later, he might have known her. He might have compared Jane’s view of the woman with his own and noted differences in perception.

I think Kevin knew she was living there and I'm sure he noticed her but I think Kevin as a murderer is a red herring.

I’m not sure I see him as the killer but this did make me think there may be something going on between him and the victim.
