Was Cassie ready to have someone else in Jimmy’s life? Or was Jimmy usng this as an excuse?

I think Cassie would be able to handle someone in Jimmy's life. Her father has a partner and it doesn't seem to bother her. I think Jimmy would like to have a new relationship but he keeps changing his mind because he feels loyalty to Fran and has been focusing and comparing each woman that comes into his life with Fran.

I'm not sure if Cassie was ready but I think Jimmy is using this as an excuse and thinking it's all or nothing to start with. I think he could work out something with Willow to gradually develop their relationship and give Cassie time to get used to it.

I think Jimmy is using that as an excuse. He's the one who's not ready to have someone in his life. He may be getting there slowly, which is his method of coping.

I’m not sure Cassie is ready, but she makes a convenient excuse for Jimmy, who is not ready.

We have never been given Cassie's point of view on the subject or even if she has one. Children are very adaptable and also we have never read that she cares one way or the other.

Cassie was always very independent and undemanding of attention even when Fran was still alive, she has never been shown to be clingy around Perez since her mother's death, so I think she'd have no problem with Perez finding someone. Perez is the one with the problem about moving on, and is using Cassie as an excuse to himself.
