Hi. I'm looking for recommendations (books you have actually read...not just ones that fit my topic) on the bombing of Dresden in 1945. I'm open to historical fiction and non-fiction. And yes, people have already mentioned Slaughterhouse Five.
TIA

I have one on my TBR pile which you've just reminded me I should be reading. It is Dresden: Tuesday, February 13, 1945 by Frederick Taylor. While I was looking for that in my inventory, I spotted Firestorm: Allied Airpower and the Destruction of Dresden. I was in Dresden a few years ago and went in a beautiful Lutheran church that had been destroyed multiple times over the centuries. Most recently it was rebuilt by contributions from the people of Canterbury after the war.

I've read the similarly named Firestorm: The Bombing of Dresden, which is an essay collection. It's pretty good; I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. I started reading Taylor's book but set it aside when it seemed like it was too focused on defending the Allies' actions. (YMMV.)
