Why did you initially think they wanted to capture rather than kill Rachel?

I think the person in charge of the Dragon Court knows Rachel and wants to keep her safe. I know we're supposed to think it's the Archbishop Sespa (can't remember his name right now) but I think it's actually Vigor - I've got a bad feeling with him

All the reasons that >2 bhabeck: said but they could also think that Rachel could be persuaded to give them information. "We're your friends and only want to safe guard you."

It seems like they want Rachel for a special reason not disclosed to us yet.

>2 bhabeck: Must admit I also thought this sounded like Vigor trying to save his niece - though I'm trying hard NOT to believe it...
(If Rachel has their required noble blood running through her, then Vigor might too - unless it comes via her other parent? - in which case, Vigor would fit the Dragon Court template.)
Let's just say, I won't be completely surprised if Vigor turns out to be the Dragon's Imperator.

It sounds like someone who knows Rachel. I can't believe it's Vigor but have no other idea who it could be.

Hadn’t thought about Vigor in that way, but presumed someone either wanted to protect her or felt she had some other part to pay.
