What are you hoping for from this series?

Looking forward to it?

I like reading this book. It reads really fast but I think Patrick Logan has lots of surprises for us. I posted this under the schedule for our book read but I'm copying it here:

Just went on Patrick Logan's facebook page. This guy used to be a pathologist but now writes book. He writes a book in one month. He knows the ending and then quickly writes the book in 2 days and does not plot. Then he reads it and goes back and fills in descriptions of the characters and anything else that does not fit right in the story. He sends it to the editor and then gets it back and sends it to his audio person. Then he listens to the audio to make sure it sounds ok and if it doesn't he makes changes before the book is published. Amazing! But after reading some of the reviews posted on Amazon, he does need a new editor as there are lots of mistakes that are distracting. I saw at least one in the first part. He is also giving away free Frozen Stiff audio to anyone who posts a review on Amazon and his Facebook page. It seems that he is self-published and does all this on his own. Crazy guy! He has a series about Damien Drake who was Chase's partner from when she was with a police department. Not sure if it is Seattle or New York. But lots of people seem to like that series and also his Insatiable Series.

Alex Lukeman also self publishes I think , I love his Project Series. White Jade is the first one and is usually available free.

I'd never heard of Logan before this, so have no idea what to expect. Some of his books look a bit strong (ie horrific) for my taste, but this one seems to be reading quite well so far, so let's see how it goes...

Logan gives a lot of books away free too. There's a video of him talking with his readers and he said he does not need ideas, he has them all in his head. He just needs time to write them down. He is starting to dictate as his wrists are hurting from all the typing he has done.

>4 Sergeirocks: Yes from the tone of his readers in regards to his horror books they are pretty horrific.

I'm looking forward to reading a book set in Girdwood, Alaska. I lived in Anchorage from 1973 to 1976 and have been there many times, including attending the World Cup Giant Slalom in 1973.

He writes a paranormal series that I have the first book but haven't started it yet. Shallow Graves. He encourages readers to write reviews. He says he can't improve what he doesn't know.

>12 EadieB: Gee...he must have forgotten to pay us or it's lost in the mail. You know the 3 biggest lies are 1. "I gave at the office"...2. "The check in in the mail"...and 3. "I'm from the IRS and I'm here to help you." Maybe you should drop him a note of reminder.

I found the info that you provide about the authors from their individual pages to be very interesting. What do you think about asking Andrew to insert a topic when he's setting up the discussion saying "Meet the Author" like he does "where Are we in the series"? One of us can do a short introduction about the author. Authors we have already done once, we can either copy and paste or just say "see....and give the series where they first appeared. Or we could just put it here in the "Chat" section. Just a thought.

>14 EadieB: Okay..That sounds good. I'll assume that you will take care of it unless you tell me otherwise.
