Has anyone thought of making their own miniature book ?

Has anyone in the group ever tried their hand at making their own miniature books, either from scratch of by filling in the pages of a miniature blank?

I own a couple of tiny sketchbooks I acquired ages ago as part of a set, which I intend to fill during my next family vacation; but, I would love to try and bind my own printed book in miniature at some point.

You can find more technical details on bookbinding on the bookarts group here on LT.

I'm just wondering if anyone has considered expanding their collection of miniature books in this way.

I saw miniature books in a gallery in Alaska that used bivalve shells as the cover with the pages cut to fit the shape. These were mostly clam shells. I've been trying to do this, but so far have not perfected how to hinge the shells securely. You've made me think that I should try again.

>2 varielle: Check out Lauren Bishop's website for some nice photos of the type of thing I think you have in mind.
If you do manage to make it work, perhaps you would like to post some pictures of any hand made miniature books you've made. :)

There are Etsy sellers who will send you kits or electronic downloads. There is a lady on Instagram who will email free downloads. I’ve gotten some recently, but I’ve not been to the library to print them out.

I’ll let you know how it goes.
