I'd like to join this group. I've read World Without End and Home to Holly Springs so far since Jan. 1st. Right now I'm reading One Good Turn by Kate Atkinson.

I'd like to say that I really enjoyed both books I've read so far this year. I was really excited to read World Without End as I loved Pillars of the Earth, which I read way back when it first came out. I also really liked Home to Holly Springs, although it took me a while to really get into it. It definitely left me with that "feel good" feeling that I've had when reading the books in the Mitford series.

Ok, am I supposed to use the square brackets? I'll try again!
World Without End by Ken Follett and Home to Holly Springs by Jan Karon.

Just finished One Good Turn by Kate Atkinson. I really enjoyed it. I don't usually read books in this genre but it was good for a change. I've now started Case Histories also by Kate Atkinson.
I'm thinking that it is going to be a real challenge for me to get close to reading 50 books this year. I don't think I've ever read more then 30. We'll see how it goes. I know I'm going to enjoy giving it a try.

Just finished Case Histories by Kate Atkinson. I really enjoyed it. I love the way she brought the main characters together at different points in the book. I kind of wish I'd read this one before One Good Turn, but it didn't seem to matter really.

I thought Case Histories was so much better than One Good Turn, although I did enjoy OGT. I liked how the characters intersected in CH, but they didn't necessarily realize it, and it was not obvious how they would. OGT was a bit more obvious, I thought. But you are right, it doesn't really matter in what order you read them.

I think Case Histories was a more enjoyable story then One Good Turn. I've got Behind the Scenes at the Museum to read but decided to take a break from Kate Atkinson and read something else in between.
I've now finished Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert and How I Live Now by Meg Rosoff.
I enjoyed Eat, Pray, Love, although I got a bit bored with Italy, I mean, comparatively so, and even Indonesia to some extent. I really liked reading about her time in India. That was my favourite part of the book.
I loved How I Live Now. I thought it was a great story and loved the way it was written. I plan to read Meg Rosoff's other book this year.

I've now finished books 7 and 8, Remembering the Bones by France Itani and Remember Me by Sophie Kinsella.
I enjoyed them both. I found Remembering the Bones a little slow but an interesting concept and Remember Me was a very light affair, total junk food! I didn't enjoy it as much as I've enjoyed her other books but it was fine.

I have to make a correction...it's Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella. I haven't read the book by Christopher Pike!

I just finished Lullabies for Little Criminals by Heather O'Neill. What a tough read but so good. I loved her writing style. I can't explain really but it was the way she wrote the book that kept me reading it. It was all just so matter of fact.
