Why do you think Dan Robie is so stubborn around Will, and saying he doesn’t want his help?

He's always held the power in their relationship and dislikes having the shoe on the other foot.

I think Dan is secretly hurting that Will left without a word all those years ago, and hasn't been in touch since.

He definitely is an angry man and I believe like Sergei it's because Will left without leaving a note.

He doesn't want to appear weak in front of his son who he dominated throughout his childhood

All of the above. I believe more than anything else Dan is hurt that Will left like he did. He has probably thought for 22 years that it was his fault. Partly it was...but the night Will drive away it was over a girl.

A hurt and angry man who has to be seen to be in control, so can’t be seen to cave!
