Should Reel and Robie have told the police about Sara’s midnight meet beforehand? Would anything have changed if they did?

No if Reel and Robie couldn't protect her, then I doubt Taggert or any police could have saved her.

I don't know whether the police could have made any better a fist of a stakeout, but maybe Sara would still have been alive if the killer had smelled a trap.

Will doesn't trust anyone on the police force but Taggart and he knows that she's a small town cop with limitations dealing with this type of activity. I don't think the locals were equipped to save Sara.

I don't think they would have listened to Robie/Reel. They had no concrete information and the police would have told them to come back later if they had more. I don't think they would have set up any surveillance based on what they had.

I dont' think it would have made any difference other than to scare off both Sara and the killer. I don't get the impression that Monda would have been subtle when showing up.

I don’t think it would have made any difference, and I think the outcome would have been the same.
