The Man who Wouldn't stand up...jacob M. Appel
This is a book about principle and prejudice....intractability and mob rule. It is an easy read despite some flat pages but it is also a confusing read. It begins as a straight narrative then moving into satire, from there ... the tension of a fugitive ...into fantasic exploits of retribution. A successful academic botanist and business man refuses to apologise after not standing for the anthem at a football game. It becomes an enormous media beat up which forces our protagonist to go into hiding, which is the main thrust of the book. I was curious for the ultimate resolution only to be confronted by a quick and disappointing conclusion. It seemed a great opportunity for a quirky ending but was not to be.

If you can't find it in a source, you can enter it manually. The link for that is under the left hand list of sources.
However there are two choices in Overcat if you search by title, so that shouldn't be necessary.
