Good afternoon from Maryland!

I am so happy I found this website. I am a memoir reader and memoir author and am looking for new memoir titles to read.
Any ideas?

A couple of recent excellent reads:

Escape through the Pyrenees, by Lisa Fittko. I'd also recommend her Solidarity and Treason: Resistance and Exile, 1933-1940. These are about her work helping people escape from Nazi-occupied France.

On a much lighter note, I liked Fashion Climbing: a memoir with photographs, by Bill Cunningham. Gerald Durrell wrote a wonderfully funny trilogy of living on Corfu as a boy. They are My Family and other Animals, Birds, Beasts, and Relatives, and The Garden of the Gods.

Growing Up by journalist Russell Baker is an outstanding memoir: funny, touching and insightful.

Can you be more specific? Is there a particular period or style or sort of content you're interested in?

You might enjoy reading Z.O.S A Memoir of Sex Blood Money & the CIA in Southeast Asia. I lived in Viet-Nam 68-70 & was married to an Air America pilot who was killed flying in Laos 18 Feb 70. I returned to Dallas, a widow with PTSD. One reviewer said: "A love story for survivors.
