I was very sad to hear this news. I have to check my book catalogue to see what books of Amos Oz that I still have to read

Last week I heard a fascinating interview with Oz on the radio show, Fresh Air. The interview was recorded in 2004. A highlight: Oz was a small boy living in Jerusalem on had clear memories of the day Israel became an independent country. He spoke movingly of the clamor and celebration in the Jewish neighborhoods of the city, and of the darkness and silence of the Palestinian neighborhoods.
