This is a place to continue those conversations that don't really belong in the thread where they started.

So, to continue the cruise conversation - my husband and I take 1-2 cruises on Cunard every year mainly because of the high quality ballroom dancing, which is my other addiction (besides books). The three Cunard ships have the biggest ballroom dance floors at sea and every night they have hours of ballroom dancing with a full orchestra. And it doesn't hurt that they have wonderful itineraries all over the world. The cruises are geared to an older crowd - the ships don't have all the bells and whistles that a lot of the massive new ships have. But we enjoy it!

We haven't done a lot of cruises but we did enjoy the two that we took on Holland-America. Hey, what's not to like when they have a constant pot of Hot Chocolate on the go!

Wow! I used to take ballroom lessons, off an on for 15 years. Really enjoyed it. That sounds wonderful!

And hey, though I started off on my first cruises trying to do a lot of different things on the ship on sea days, the last couple (I've done 6 now), I spend good chunks of sea days finding a nice comfy spot to read. :-)

>2 LisaMorr: We have not been on Cunard yet. We are always saying we will take dance lessons before out next cruise, and then we don't! But we do like to dance, in our own way.

>4 LibraryCin: I did the same thing! We were always trying to stay busy. Talk about anally organized--so my husband and I actually had a daily cruise schedule for at sea days, ie Breakfast at 9, Walk the Deck (not the plank) at 10, Lecture at 11, Tea at 3, Happy Hour at 4--you get the idea. We are a lot more relaxed now. . .we both love to read and do a lot of that when on the ship.
