I am part of the knitting school that loves Elizabeth Zimmerman. I am also a great fan of Barbara Walker because she catalogued so many stitch patterns and since I've moved into mostly designing my own things looking at her books is like being in a candy store.

For pattern designers I am a fan of Kim Hargreaves who used to design for Rowan.

Who are your favorite knitting writers?

I like EZ as well but I haven't d one much of her stuff yet. I enjoy Stephanie Pearl-McPhee books for the humor but especially Knitting Rules as it has some good info about yarns and basic patterns for socks, shawls, scarves etc...

I'm with you two - Elizabeth Zimmermann and Stephanie Pearl-McPhee are my two favorites. I love reading McPhee's blog every day; she is so hilarious!
