Has anyone ever dealt with this before on the FS books? 2 used books I ordered came with some defects which I think is foxing. Are these books safe to keep with my other books? The books don't really smell of mold so I am not sure what caused this. It is only on the areas shown in the pictures.

Foxing is brown, hence presumably the name, and usually comes with age. There's debate over whether it's caused by mould or metallic components in the paper.
Black or grey stains are likely mould, as a result of humidity.
Whatever these may be, they should have been noted by the vendor; I'd want to return the books for a refund.

I was able to get a full refund from the seller. Is there any way for me to salvage these books? I read online about taking sandpaper to the edges or using alcohol wipes, bleach, etc.
I would rather keep the books with small imperfections due to sand paper than throw them out. However, if they are going to spread to my other books then of course that would be the only option.

If you think the books are worth it, I'd take them to an expert for treatment -- in the first place to confirm that it is mould, and not overspray or something harmless. Mould on paper is usually soft and might respond to being brushed off and/or sucked up by a vacuum cleaner with a hepa filter.
