I've started a legacy library for Ezra Pound -- member name EzraPoundsLibrary.

Should contain approximately 750 volumes.

Is there a way to assure that LT will grant this a lifetime membership?

Thanks.

I'll email them about it. Where's the list of books for this one?

In the holdings of the Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas at Austin. The HRC obtained all these books, along with dozens of boxes of manuscripts and correspondence upon Pound's death. Listing of personal library accessible through the HRC's catalog.

Do you have a URL?

Also, weren't Tim and Casey going to automate bulk import from OPACs like that?

Ezra Pound's library is complete, unless anyone is aware of other sources of information besides the holding in the HRC at UTEXAS. Thanks to deniro for doing the lion's share of the entering!

There are an additional 350+ of Ezra Pound's books in the Beinecke Library at Yale. The Beinecke has 276 boxes of archival material from his papers, plus this part of his library. To find the books search the Yale Catalog:

http://orbis.library.yale.edu

Put this in the search box:
Pound, Ezra, 1885-1972 Ownership

And select "Special Collections Subject" from the drop-down list. This should return about 350 printed works.

Good find! Anybody up for adding these?

I'll have a go at it.

Alrighty, good luck - jburlinson and I discovered that many of these are single issues of magazines, which don't need to go in ... long runs of journals, maybe, but single issues seem a bit excessive. If you have questions as you get going, feel free to ask.

How do I tell which goes in?

The entries will state what they are (monograph, periodical, &c.) and if periodicals, what issues are in there. Books should go in, but unless the periodicals seem really noteworthy or there's a long run of them (more than two or three years, I'd say), they don't have to. If you run into difficulties, just make a list of problems/potential entries and we can evaluate.

All of them are periodicals.

Well, that solves that then! I'll just add a note to the profile page saying that a collection of Pound's newspapers and periodicals are at Yale, and how to access them.
Thanks!

Or I won't, because I can't get into the account. Someone who has the password, drop it to me in a profile comment. Thanks!

I've been taking a look at Ezra Pound's library and it seemed quite small. So I've been looking for more sources.

Ezra Pound gifted a couple hundred of his books to his old school, Hamilton College, New York. After he died his son Omar gifted more of his collection. The books are all available through the Hamilton College library catalogue.

A publication which might be an interesting read John McWhinnie & Sarah Funke The Venice Library of Ezra Pound and Olga Rudge.

Also, the Yale catalogue does have a small quantity of books from Pound's personal library. But maybe we could reconsider the periodicals? Some are prestigious reviews and well-known victorian magazines.

If this library is no longer curated, I'd be willing to input the data.

Thanks to jburlinson, I'll start working on the above additions later this week.
