the greater person?

A. I feel uncomfortable judging a person's greatness based on unreliable indicators such as name recognition or presence in the popular consciousness, which is the extent of my expertise on any of them, so I pick Oliver Wendell Holmes (archivist).

Q. What is a common life experience that you seem to find unreasonably difficult?

A: I find it rather difficult when people jump to conclusions on things right away. Everyone has a different perception on what's happened or what's going on. And because of that, everyone should mind their own and leave it as is; not interrupting the way things are supposed to be.

Q: If you could change one thing about your life so far, what would it be and why?

A: I would have learned to play piano as a child, because now I am too old to pick up a skill like that very successfully.

Q: What is the name of a book you absolutely hated, and what did you hate so much about it?

(Anyone else want to restart this thread? Seems like a fun one!)
A: I couldn't get into A Court of Thorns and Roses. I already struggle to like anything written in first person, but the whole book felt like a fanfiction/wattpad story. Now that being said, I really enjoyed the video essay style summary that @CariCanRead did on youtube.

Q: If you could vacation for 2 weeks in any fictional place, where would you go?

A: Cornwall. The big house in Rosamunde Pilcher's "Coming Home."

Q: What childhood board game could you still play for hours?

A: Candyland. Something about the characters are just so comforting!

Q: It's a beautiful day, you go out to breakfast with your favorite people, what are you ordering?

A: First Watch carrot cake pancakes.

Q: What Christmas tradition are you secretly "grinchy" about?

A: Elf on the shelf, that little bugger is fun for 2 days, then it's just a chore!

Q: Do you prefer to host or visit for the holidays?

A: Introverts here. Neither! ;) (But if it's one option or the other, let's go with a brief visit!)

Q: What story, book, or novel do you reread annually around Christmas?

A: Santa Mouse! That book is the reason my family has put out cheese and crackers with the milk and cookies for almost 30 years!

Q: Modern Christmas movies (anything that came out after 2004) or Classic Christmas movies (It's A Wonderful Life, Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer, etc.)?

A. Classic of course - Elf, Christmas Story, Love Actually!

Q. What book have you liked so far in 2026, or your favorite from Dec ‘25?

A: Water Like a Stone; features British detective couple Gemma James/Duncan Kincaid; set in rural Cheshire just after Christmas.

A. From the sofa in my small library l see a world map on the wall to the left.

A. Central Kansas/Wichita area (family, not recreation)

A. Nope! I know better than to make 'em! ;)

A. A brown suede jacket, I can't remember if I got rid of it because it didn't fit anymore or if it got too shabby, but I really liked that coat, gave it to charity.

A: Just one? Most recently, I'm on a Vince Gill kick, especially the songs he writes about his Amy. But I'll second nrmay on Americana artists.

A. Laundry. Love just dumping clothes in and letting the machines do the work.
