Any thoughts why Mallik wanted a satellite system?

I think he wanted to prevent the launch of the Colossus 5 and destroy the Colossus Project.

I think he might want it to counter the presence of Colossus - it is probably a way of taking out the AI like he did with Diego Garcia

He didn't want the Colossus Project to get off the drawing board....and it seemed he had some fairly good reasons. We read another book a year or so ago that AI was writing it's own code and soon would have taken over ignoring the humans.

Too much is happening, I can't remember which of the Nine owns what...

Presumably for Mallik to disrupt the Colossus project, but could also be something more sinister.

I think he thought the Colossus project was too dangerous to implement.
