Were you surprised when Lyla shot Juan? Any thoughts on the outcome for him?

Yes I was surprised but I guess she didn't know if he was the enemy too. I think Juan has protective gear on and will come out fine.

not surprised at all - he seems to get shot or stabbed in each book. However most of the time, the stabbing or shooting ends up hitting his prosthetic rather than something vital.

She didn't know who or what he was but she did know that "bedtime" had arrived. Gutsy move on her part to attack the guard. She had nothing to lose at this point. I knew he wouldn't die.

Yes, this did come out of the blue. I hardly expected him to be harmed, however, even if it hadn't been stated that they were wearing body armour. A random reader might be surprised by that fact, but we followers of the serial would expect no less.

This was a surprise, but not a shock. Always expected him to live, although one time a head shot will be a different outcome altogether.

I was surprised but could see why she did it. I was pretty sure Juan was going to be okay.
