Is Artificial Intelligence a threat to us all?

I am very, very scared that scientists will go that root.

I don't see that it's come to exactly a threat yet...but it may be on the way. Have you talked to an Alexa Echo lately? Not exactly AI but on the same track. It's just the beginning. You can buy one from Amazon for less that $100.00.

I am definitely in the camp that believes the Terminator scenario. >3 Carol420: mentioned Alexa - all the home automation hubs like that as well as our cell phones etc "listen" to their environment and learn from them - the "interest-based" advertising that shows up on my cell phone and webpages reinforces how much info Big Brother is collecting at all times

Yep! They know everything we are interested in by what info we search for.

I just got back from my brother's place and it was fully Alexa'd. You just ask her to turn on and off the lights, inquire about the weather, tell you the word of the day or the joke of the day, and play any song you can think of. Probably more I didn't know about.
