Did you think Colossus would be able to stop the self-destruct?

I didn't - I thought Colossus would find itself torn apart and headed to the bottom of the canal

No I think that once the self-destruct was started that it would be very hard to stop it.

At this early point in its life, I thought it would still need the help of humans to intervene on its behalf, which meant in turn that humans could stop them. But I think, later on down the line, when fully grown (!), Colossus would have disabled all fail-safes and nothing could have been done to stop it doing so.

(Edited because someone (or something) put an extra 't' in my 'later' - it certainly wasn't me! 😉)

I did think it could stop it. Self preservation would have to be the very first thing that it learned....otherwise it could never be able to "relax" while learning all the other things it would need to know to take over from humans.

>6 Sergeirocks: It would have had the human race sussed out in no time, and found it seriously wanting.

No Juan and crew were always going to stop it, of not what hope?

I assumed it couldn't stop the self destruct because Juan was going to save the day.
