Is this the BBC's worst headline? .. .. .. :

William and Kate light candles with holocaust survivors.

Wow!
Poor survivors...

I chuckled when I saw this headline on the BBC webpage. The highest paid editors in the world.

Going by a piece in today's Times (London) quite a lot may be headed for the dole queue. Also there's a suggestion shouldn't be nasty to those nice politicians. Myself I quite like "combative" interviewers who persist when faced with evasive interviewees.

Is "be headed" not hyphonated? "Be-headed"

Alternate headlines:

William, Kate, and holocaust survivors light candles.

However, if William and Kate are considered a unit, then perhaps the headline should be “William and Kate, and holocaust survivors light candles.”

Either way, the headline sounds awkward. Can someone suggest a better headline?

Humbly awaiting a pedants reply,

Headlines often sound awkward. It's the nature of the beast.

"Cambridges and holocaust survivors light candles."

William and Kate join holocaust survivors to light candles

William and Kate join holocaust survivors in candle-lighting ceremony (depending on how much room the headline editor has)

Of course, there's always "Holocaust survivors light candles with William and Kate". /snark/
