Thanks for the tip. This is one I’ll probably get because of my interest in the American West, but it’s pricey for a non-limited edition.

I just discovered that this is a DLE even though the Web description doesn’t say so. My copy arrived today and is numbered 305 of 600. I wonder if the relatively high number means that all 600 were produced in a single batch.
The size, design, and limitation all suggest that it is intended to be in series with the earlier Buffalo Bill and the Sitting Bull volumes. This one does not have as many illustrations, but most of them are full-page.
From the title page: “His early history; his bear hunting and other adventures; his services in the Creek War; his electioneering speeches and career in Congress; with his triumphal tour through the northern states; and services in the Texan War. To which is added an account of his glorious death at the Alamo while fighting in defence of Texan independence.”

I received my copy yesterday - 280 of 600. I find the book much more impressive than in the illustration. In the illustration, the book shows as grey; but in 'real life' it appears to me to be a dark burgundy. However, my wife says it is brown (a nice rich brown) and she is probably correct. I sometimes have a little problem with certain colors. Anyway, I'm glad I made the purchase. I've had an interest in Crockett since the Walt Disney programs.

It looks brown to me, but the illustrations don’t look much like Fess Parker. (Our younger members won’t understand this allusion, but Wikipedia can help.)

LoL
I have a Fess Parker story to tell but don’t have time right now. I’ll post back later. Very touching.

So here’s the story...
A patient of mine who was a Vietnam vet told me that he was coming home on leave and was getting on an airplane. I can’t remember exactly how they met but somehow Fess Parker saw him in uniform and stopped to shake his hand while they were on the plane and thank him for his service. He asked the stewardess if my patient could come and sit next to him in first class. He said he spent the whole flight chatting with Fess about where they grew up, what Vietnam was like and my patient said he answered every Davy Crockett question he had as he was a big Davy Crockett TV show fan.
He said Fess couldn’t have been a more genuine real and kind person if he tried and the encounter made a lifelong impression on him. I asked him if he got his autograph and he laughed and said that he completely forgot as he was just so wrapped up in chatting with him.
Unfortunately my patient is no longer with us.

To the best of my knowledge, Easton Press has published five books that deal at least somewhat with David (Davy) Crockett: 'Life Of Davy Crockett' by Davy Crockett; 'David Crockett, The Man And The Legend' by James Shackford; 'Story Of The Wild West And Campfire Chats' by Buffalo Bill; '13 Days To Glory, The Siege Of The Alamo' by Lon Tinkle; and 'A Treasury Of American Folklore' edited by B A Botkin. There is also a short entry for him in 'The Wild West' by Michael Wallis and a short mention in 'The West, An Illustrated History' by Geoffrey C Ward. Does anyone know of any other Easton Press books that deal with Crockett to any degree? Thank you for any assistance you can offer.

I have all those except “13 Days to Glory.” Did you know that Michael Wallis also wrote an excellent biography called “David Crockett: Lion of the West”? EP hasn’t published it, although they did publish his biography of Billy the Kid. This is the same Michael Wallis who was the voice of the sheriff in the “Cars” movies.
