I am currently writing my second novel, but am nowhere close to writing a synopsis for you. So, I will type a summary of Fatal Kidnapping for you.
Katie Stone felt all alone. At the same time, however, she never felt alone. Katie was constantly checking over her shoulder in fear, a perpetual and eerie feeling that someone was watching or following her. Unfortunately, no one would believe her. In Fatal Kidnapping, Tracy B. Evans’ new book of love, death, and abduction in a small town, the refusal to believe Katie turns into disbelief when, suddenly, Katie disappears.
When Katie’s father, Jed, does not hear from her and neither he nor Katie’s fiancé, Caleb, can find her, Jed contacts his close friend and the town’s sheriff, Jack Day. Sheriff Day is clueless when it comes to conducting a search for a missing person, as he has never had to deal with any major crimes in such a small town. He eventually calls together a group of people from the town to meet him at the police station and begins the search for Katie. As the townspeople look high and low for the missing girl, the search begins to seem pointless. They find nothing to aid them in the investigation, and no sign of Katie. Caleb fears that Katie has left town because she has decided that she does not want to marry him after all. Then, suddenly, a few days later, Katie is discovered. She is bruised and battered, but she is alive.
Katie begins to tell Sheriff Day what happened to her during the time she was gone, but Sheriff Day is immediately frustrated and confused. Why is she beginning her statement with details about her childhood? Katie tells him he must listen to the whole story or he will never believe her. Wanting to get to the bottom of things, Sheriff Day agrees, and he can not believe what he learns next. When Katie is finished, Sheriff Day believes he has discovered the truth behind her kidnapping. But has he really, and will the truth ever truly be revealed? Katie is adamant that the statement she has given is correct, but how can the kidnapper be a man who has been dead for years?

I went over to Liverpool last night, where Jimmy McGovern was giving a talk on the new series of "The Street" and his writing in general. He was very candid, admitting that his writing was at its peak seven years ago (he's 59 now), and went on to say that the older a writer gets the more their ideas diminish, but their critical faculties intensify to an equal extent. Michael can bear that out. So all you young 'uns had best get your creative juices a-flowing afore the years get the better of you.
However, having said the above I reckon that what little writing I do nowadays is technically better than it's ever been, far less obscure than it used to be - and even if it's more exacting to work on, I still derive as much pleasure (such pleasure that pleasure is hardly the word for it) from being immersed in the act of creative writing as I've ever done - and I'm four years older than Mr McGovern.
I've come to a bit of a halt on "The Time-traveller and His Dog" project at the moment, but by no means have I abandoned it. Just waiting for some inspiration, and know from experience that inspiration cannot be willed - it usually creeps up on you when you're least expecting it.
Shine on brightly

Hi goodwitch62442
I am currently working on my third novel in the Mihte series, called Mihte's Return. I was asked by fans after publishing " Mihte's Quest", to write a second book which I called " Mihte's Challenge". This like the first novel it is set in the Underworld, a kind of Valhalla. That book I completed in January and have now started "Mihte's Return".
" Mihte's Return" is the first book where Jack Harrowdine in back on the Earth's surface with his family. After three years away in the Underworld Jack returns home to live with his family. He becomes fascinated by a plague which is ravaging south America. No sooner than he arrives, Haw and Rowan his imaginary friends come to stay. To Jack;s surprise the houyhnhnms have invited themselves on their own mission. The book starts as a mystery and will end in a great war like "Lord of the Rings". I cannot say more or the plot will unravel. I am going to greatly enjoy the task of finishing the book.

I'm working on the third book in my Gods of Midnight series, Red Demon, which continues where Red Kiss left off. The series is about a band of immortal Spartan warriors battling evil in modern day Savannah. I'm also, fyi, chatting here on Library Thing for the next two weeks. You can find it in the topic list, I believe, under Deidre Knight. Would love to meet you.
