K, I'll bite. This sounds like an interesting list to keep! I tried to keep a list like this on the cover of a journal I was writing in last year, but I lost the journal at some point, as I always do. The list got a little convoluted anyhow because I didn't update it enough, so when I did I could never remember everything I'd read recently, especially if it was forgettable.

And my own personal rules for myself: since this is my first year of grad school, I'm allowing myself to add select textbooks to my list, but only if I they are books I know I'll keep and remember, or would have read on my own anyway.

I'll come back when I'm ready to post books to the list--I don't have them in front of me at the moment.

Happy reading!

Welcome to the club :) I'll hazard to say that you won't forget to keep up this list--librarything gets too addicting too quickly.

These aren't in order... I don't keep track of things well, but this is a list of books I've read so far this year. I thought it about time I go ahead and post some of these:

1. Storm Front by Jim Butcher
2. Blood Engines by Tim Pratt
3. Bloodchild by Octavia E. Butler
4. Jade Tiger by Jenn Reese
5. Catechism of the Catholic Church
6. Complete Idiots Guide to Christianity
7. Farenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
8. How Languages are Learned by Patsy M. Lightbown
9. The Tao of Pooh by Benjamin Hoff

It feels very much like I've read more than that this year... and maybe have and just need to keep this updated more. Either way, I need to get into gear and start reading more. 9/50 books in a year is not good progress. That leaves at a very reasonable 5-6 novels a month on average to make my quota by the end of December. It's vacation though, so I think I can make some good progress.

My next goal is to read more Octavia Butler, I will probably be reading more of Pratt's Marla Mason series, and Butcher's Harry Dresden series, too since they're less intense and I'll need a break between the heavier novels. I also want to read some more Bradbury, some Asimov, and other classics in the sci-fi and fantasy world too.

In addition to that, I'm working my way through the New Testament, but I'm not counting that towards my book count since I'm more than a little haphazard about it. Maybe if I actually finish an entire book within it I'll add it to the list.

I also want to pick up the sequel to the Tao of Pooh which was a FABULOUS read.
