Why do you think Harry was holding back on becoming fully involved with Sylvia Moore?

Harry never gets very involved with any woman. He's a loner and he's happy with this.

Harry is not the type to make a full commitment in a relationship. He needs his own space to figure things out and a committed relationship would get in the way at times.

I agree with Carol and Eadie. The man is basically a loner, happy with the occasional connection, but no long term commitments.

I don’t remember enough about him from the prior books to make a judgement. However i trust you all, so i agree.

I think that Bosch doesn't trust himself to be in a committed relationship because of his job. He feels that he cannot communicate on a personal level about part of his life, because of what he does for a living. So he's always hiding a piece of himself away. Maybe it's because of all the dark things he has gone through as an officer.

>8 jodiesohl: I agree and would add that specifically in Sylvia’s case, it’s because of the “cover up” that he perpetrated in her husband’s death. I think that is definitely creating a wedge between them in the relationship
