Was it right of the newspaper to publish the article about the Concrete Blonde whilst the case was ongoing? Should the trial have been paused?

No...but that is the way the news media operates. A story that is 24 hours old is ancient history as far as they are concerned and especially if a rival paper beats them to the story.

Newspapers are not worried about whether the timing is right. They are more interested in selling newspapers.

The judge saw no reason to pause. If this was the wrong decision, there'd be grounds for an appeal. Under the circumstances, I'll go with the judge.

The timing was bad for the court case bit started so needed to proceed.

The timing was bad but there's really no evidence tying the dead woman to the trial.

The judge is in a tough spot. He’ll have trouble either way. Agree there is grounds for an appeal if there is a connection. However i suspect the same problem If he were to delay the trial and then the result is no connection

No. The problem is that the media makes $$$ from sensationalism. Something like this is going to get their numbers up on TV and people to buy more newspapers. It's just really bad timing for the court case.

The media is going to do what it wants and consequences be damned. The article appeared to be a bit of speculation on the part of the media and I’d be interested in knowing who leaked the info — they wouldn’t have made the leap from a woman’s body in a concrete slab to it being a Dollmaker kill (after he’s been thought to be dead for 4 years) without someone connecting the dots for them.
